Latest update: 31 July 2008

[the website now contains over 4150 items]

The Machine Translation Archive is an electronic repository (and bibliography) of articles, books and papers in the field of machine translation and computer-based translation technology – for the foreseeable future, only publications in the English language will be included. The archive is compiled by John Hutchins of the European Association for Machine Translation on behalf of the International Association for Machine Translation.

The full texts of the great majority of publications are located on this website; however, the archive also includes some publications accessed by links to other sites, primarily these are publications with copyright restrictions. In the first instance an effort will be made to cover comprehensively English-language publications since 1990. Papers from previous years are being added to provide coverage from the beginnings of MT in the 1950s. (See list of recent additions.) For more details and guidance on practice (including citation) see the introduction.
